Biography
I am currently a Data Analyst at the Toronto Police Service. Prior to my current role, I was a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto where I assisted in delivering courses in data science and mathematics. Prior to moving to Canada, I spent 8 years in Qatar where I was an academic researcher at the Center for Islamic Economics and Finance, College of Islamic Studies, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, a Member of the Qatar Foundation. I was also an Adjunct Instructor of Calculus at Georgetown University Qatar. These days, I am interested in the themes of reproducible research, data science, governance, and public policy. I am passionate about using data for action and data for impact.

Academic Interests
My interests in statistics are manifold. I am interested in the use of applied statistics in the fields of development economics, economic history, finance, higher education, public policy, and public safety. More generally, I am interested in arguments made on the basis of statistical analysis and how those statistical findings are communicated to diverse audiences in the form of visualizations and principled rhetoric. In the pursuit of truth, quantitative researchers and data analysts often make broad inferences and claims based on a sample of data. I am interested in verifying the accuracy of such claims. This involves conducting reproducibility and replication studies, meticulously checking the data sources and software program codes for any inconsistencies, and ensuring that statistical and sampling methods have been used appropriately and transparently both in my own research as well as the research of others. I am also interested in mathematical statistics, the philosophy of statistics, and the R programming language for statistical computing and graphics.
